La Aurora officially inaugurated its first Cigar Lounge on August 14, 2026, in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.
The new space is located at the Residence Inn by Marriott Santiago de los Caballeros and was designed as a gathering place centered on premium cigars, incorporating smoking areas, pairings, meeting spaces and a selection of La Aurora’s portfolio.
The opening brought together La Aurora’s executive team, representatives of the hotel, members of the Board of Directors of the Hospital Metropolitano de Santiago (HOMS), brand associates and individuals connected to the cigar industry.
A New Space for Cigar Culture in Santiago
The concept combines the cigar experience with hospitality elements, including a central gathering area, a bar and spaces designed for social and corporate meetings.
One of the property’s main features is a walk-in humidor, allowing visitors to browse and select different cigars from La Aurora’s portfolio.
The lounge also includes a private room designed for social and corporate gatherings.
Located on the 11th floor, the establishment also features a balcony overlooking the mountains north of Santiago, one of the architectural and scenic elements highlighted by the company in its presentation of the space.
Pairings and Beverage Selection
The lounge’s beverage and pairing offering includes Ron E. León Jimenes 110 Aniversario, Ron E. León Jimenes 1903 and Kora Café.
According to La Aurora, these elements were incorporated as complements to the cigar tasting experience.
The combination of cigars, spirits and coffee positions the new establishment as a specialized hospitality concept rather than simply a traditional retail location.
La Aurora’s Vision for the New Space
During the inauguration, Guillermo León, president of La Aurora, said that the space is intended to contribute to Santiago’s tourism offering while strengthening the tobacco culture associated with the Dominican Republic.
“This space will enrich Santiago’s tourism offering while strengthening the tobacco culture that distinguishes us as a national brand.”
