Casa de Campo, La Romana, Dominican Republic — The Dominican Republic hosted the fifth edition of the Cigar Smoking World Championship (CSWC) on June 27, an international competition that tests endurance and technique in premium cigar smoking. The event took place at the Coral Room of the El Cacique Conference Center, within Casa de Campo Resort & Villas.
The 2026 edition was organized through a partnership between Danays León Group, official organizer of the CSWC in the country; Cigar Country, joining for the first time as co-organizer; and Casa de Campo, serving as Hosting Partner. The event coincided with the Cigars in Paradise festival, held at the same resort, drawing enthusiasts, manufacturers, industry leaders, and international guests over the weekend.
Competition Results
Official results of the championship were as follows:
- First place: Rafael Solano Portoreal — 2 hours, 8 minutes and 23 seconds
- Second place: Freylin Pérez — 1 hour, 50 minutes and 12 seconds
- Third place: Magda Alicia Pérez — 1 hour, 40 minutes and 50 seconds
The competition was judged by Danays León Sánchez and Ana Camila Besú León, who oversaw compliance with the rules and international standards established by the CSWC.
